As a self-taught artist, Yanina Angelini spends a good deal of the year studying new techniques to work into her distinct mashup of street art and abstract expressionism.
For the past two years, she has been studying Uruguayan masters.
“This is the first time I loosely implement techniques that follows the Father of Universal Constructivism, Joaquin Torres-Garcia’s aesthetic sensibilities. As I look upon the Masters Painters of my land, Uruguay, I wanted to bring that here to Fredericksburg, but in a way that indicates that myself as an artist is still in her growing stages. I spent the day at Chatham Manor and tried to simmer down all of the visual input before me into simple shapes, a limited number of color and a lot symbols.”
Yanina Angelini is a Uruguayan artist and gallery owner living in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
