By now, you might have heard about the latest project of Friends of Chatham in support of Chatham Manor and its dependencies, the Laundry and Kitchen buildings, The Window & Door Repair Project.
Just in case, here’s how this project came about …
In late 2014, the National Park Service replaced all of the shutters on the exterior of Chatham Manor and the Laundry and Kitchen ancillary buildings, as the then existing shutters were in very poor repair. Unfortunately, the funding was not sufficient to allow for all of the exterior window frames and glazing to be repaired and completely repainted, nor for the total repair and repainting of the doors on the manor.
The Window & Door Repair Project will address those needs, with the bulk of the work scheduled to be done by the contractor, Olde Towne Window & Door, in the Spring and Summer of 2016. You can help support this project by making a purchase this Fall through our fundraising page with our fundraising partner, Lynch Creek Farm.
